Data processing#
Important
These webpages are under development.
A high-level overview of the Data Release Processing (DRP) steps which generated the data products. All processing was done with the LSST Science Pipelines.
For processing details see Citation: NSF-DOE Vera C. Rubin Observatory (2026); The Vera C. Rubin Observatory Data Preview 2

Summary#
A summary of the DRP processing stages.
Instrument signature removal (ISR)#
Corrects the raw images for the effects of the telescope and detector.
Calibration#
Generates the science-ready processed visit images.
Coaddition#
Generates the deep coadd and template images.
Source detection and measurement#
Generates catalogs of detected sources and measurements of their properties.
Difference image analysis#
Runs image subtraction to generate difference images and associated detection catalogs.
Moving objects processing#
Associates difference-image detections with known small bodies and generates Solar System catalogs. Discovery and linking of new objects are performed separately in Prompt Processing.
